At Dýralæknastofa Suðurnesja we offer all general health services for animals and treatment of sick and injured animals. We perform general surgeries such as castration and sterilization, caesarean sections, tumor removal, etc.
The clinic is well-equipped with blood analysis equipment, imaging equipment (X-ray and ultrasound), anesthesia equipment, laser treatment, as well as dental equipment.
The clinic's veterinarians visit stables and sheepfolds in the Suðurnes region and even homes if requested.
Opening hours and emergencies
The office is open every weekday from 08:30 - 16:30 and on Saturdays from 10:00 - 13:00. The phone is open from 9:00 to 12:30 and 13:00 to 16:00 on weekdays and is open from 10:00 to 13:00 on Saturdays. We have appointments and it is not always possible to attend to those who show up without an appointment (unless it is an emergency). Make an appointment.
In the morning, surgeries, dental cleanings, etc. are performed, while in the afternoon, there is office time. Animals that are scheduled for surgery should usually arrive between 8:00 and 9:00 and stay with us until they have recovered from anesthesia, at which time their owners are called.
For emergencies outside of opening hours: The practice's veterinarians participate in the official emergency veterinary call service in the Southwest Region. The telephone number for emergencies outside of opening hours is 530 4888. Please note that the veterinarian on duty may be under heavy pressure at any given time.
